Frequently asked questions
In short, digital marketing is promoting products or services through digital channels like social media, websites, email, and search engines. Think of it as traditional marketing moved to the online world, where you can reach people through their phones, computers, and tablets. There's more about this on these webpages so be sure to have a good poke around!

I also bring a vast reservoir of life experience to the table - not only through my long career in senior management but more generally as a wife, mother and midlife woman. Never forget the vast experience that you also have to bring to the fore. Take confidence in your own transferable skills - they are all extremely valuable!
The most important thing is consistency and willingness to learn. Digital marketing evolves constantly, so being adaptable and maintaining regular content creation is more important than being perfect from the start.
No! While basic computer skills are helpful, most digital marketing tools today are user-friendly and if you purchase and study a course, you will be shown everything that you need to do, step by step. However, you must be able to overcome any fears that you may have about technology - this is the online space so bring and open mind and have a go!
No, you can start from scratch and, after all, we all have to start from somewhere - you can have a very small following but still make sales if people can align with you and have confidence in you. However, I think that it's also logical to say that the sooner you can build your following, the more beneficial it will be to your success.
No - you really don’t! I started with no knowledge or experience in this area - however, it’s extremely useful to develop your knowledge and experience which is where the courses become invaluable! Therefore you need to be willing to learn. Also don't forget that you do bring experience and knowledge to the table - you may be in work, you may be a stay-at-home mum. We all have life experience that contributes to success in this space so don't ever forget that!
No, you don’t have to show your face and, for some people, that's their worst nightmare! There are many, many people that are very successful with faceless accounts. You will find various resources to help you if you particularly want to focus on faceless and, for example, SWC 2.0 has modules dedicated to this area.
If you study via a course, you will be shown the basics of how to sell and how to brand your business, whilst also learning about how to define your ideal customers. Then you will start by sharing valuable content on social media that solves problems for your target audience. Engage with your followers, respond to comments, and build genuine relationships. Your first customers often come from this engaged audience.
Unfortunately there isn’t a hard and fast answer to this question as it is different for everyone. For me it was probably longer than other people - it was a good 7 - 8 weeks. It can be quite disheartening when you hear of others making their first sale within days. However, as long as you put in the time and effort consistently, then eventually it will pay off. The main thing is to never throw the towel in - be determined to make it work and it will!
No, you don’t have to make your own products to sell - one of the great things about this space is that you can resell other people’s products that you haven’t created (for example, look out for Private Label Rights (PLR) products which you can buy, rebrand and resell as your own). For me the dream is to be primarily selling my own products that I have created with my own ideas, knowledge and experience. I'm getting there slowly and so will you, if that's the direction in which you want to take your business.
SWC has modules dedicated to drop shipping and print on demand and over 20 ways to earn money online so if you want to spread your income across various online models then you may well wish to consider purchasing SWC.
Organic marketing is free promotion through content creation, social media posts, and natural engagement. Paid marketing involves spending money on advertisements. Both are valuable, but organic marketing is perfect for beginners to build authentic connections.
